Vietnamese Beef and Cucumber Salad

This was a huge fail. I used a recipe that called for a fish sauce marinade. I made it but omitted the jalapenos. Let the beef marinade for 24 hours. I took it out tonight and it smelled so rank! Literally like fish carcass. But I cooked it anyway and doused it with soy sauce and worcestershire sauce but it tasted awful. The salad was good though. I’m sure I screwed it up somehow.
